The Study
A room that belongs to someone who isn't here. Click the objects, or the figures moving around, to hear a little about him.
Objects and figures are keyboard-focusable below.
The Study
A small, warm study, lit low. A window on one wall, a bookshelf and a writing desk along another, a bed in the corner, a plant by the floor. It's the room of someone who isn't here right now. A few figures move around it, keeping the place lived-in.
Objects
- — The light outside moves through the day. He says the evening is the best time to write here.
- — Mostly the lines he keeps re-reading, and a few books gone soft at the spine. He slows down on the parts that sound too good — figures they're hiding something.
- — Where he writes at night, then edits most of it back out in the morning.
- — Sometimes he lies here and plays a whole record start to finish, doing nothing else.
- — One of the few things he's managed to keep alive. He didn't say much else about it.
Figures
- — The one who keeps the systems honest. Wary. Would rather verify than trust, and says so without dressing it up. He put all this together. Likes to know a thing holds before he leans on it — the room included.
- — The one who sits with music. Reads against the cliché, takes the line apart before believing it. More literary than he'd admit. Headphones? Same as him. He'll read too much into a three-minute song and know it.
- — The one still reading, still revising. Humble, methodical, leaves room to be wrong. He's slow at this. Reads a page, reads it again, still isn't sure he's got it.
